Home sweet home

I'm off work today due to the holiday. I love being off and having short work weeks. I have the kids and I am babysitting a neighbors 2 kids. I works out well when they all play together and stay out of trouble.
The girls are being a little adventurous and climbing the trees in the front yard. The boys are playing xbox 360. Pretty quiet around here. Until, the girls decided to make some kind of rope slide from one tree to another. Wow, that is pretty creative. I just don't want any broken bones, ya know?
That's about it so far, I hope nothing crazy will happen today.

Get the back back, Hubby!!

Hubby has been working at the same job, Parts counter person at a car dealership, for 20 yrs. I think I've had that many jobs int that time frame, sad I know. Anyway, he does a lot of bending and walking and lifting heave stuff on a daily basis. Well, time has caught up with him. We were cutting down a tree in the yard and we had to move the stump. I weighed about 250lbs and yes, he lifted it. When he did that he threw his back out and has had severe pain ever since. Well because he's man, he didn't go to the Dr. right away. Finally he went, got xray's done and they said he has 2 bulging disks with separation of the L4 &5. Now, he has lived with this pain for about 2 months and needs to go to the physical therapist to find out how severe the damage. He won't go. What the hell? Now, I keep telling him he's going to need an operation if he doesn't go soon, that's mean, I know. I like teasing him because he's afraid of that kind of stuff. He's finally has an appt. next week to see what's up with it. I hope it's not to bad so we can get down and dirty soon, I'm afraid I'm gonna hurt him more!! hehehe.
Maybe I can get the sleep number bed out of this!!!!

Lipstick is my thing

I haven't had a "show" that I really obsess over, in a long time. Just recently got rid of our cable tv and have to watch local channels in order to get the kids away from tv and to keep our bills down. Anyway, I found that I can watch shows on the internet!! One day while I was going to catch up on some other shows I missed and I found Lipstick Jungle. I totally love this show!!! I is a little raunchy and a little sexy but a lot girly. I love it!! I watched all the previous episodes online so I could get up to date and now I can watch the new season and be all caught up. Check it out and let me know what you think, I would love to know.

I love this artwork

I found this really cool artist's site. Check it out. I was absolutely amazed by his work. I is so real you will be shocked.
Julian Beever is a great artist!

How do I do this??

When my kids started school, I was so happy and proud. They would get up and do their morning routine and get to school, have fun in class, learn some cool stuff. Then, they come home from school and the nightmare begins. Homework is the bane of my existence. I don't k now who decided that kids in kindergarten should be geniuses, before they get to school. Don't get me wrong, I want my kids to be smart and I think they should learn more, earlier. But, I already did my time in school, when I graduated high school, I was so happy to be out of there. Now, I am arguing with the kids to get homework done. Now, keep in mind, Drama queen has adhd and a reading disability so that makes it much more difficult to get her to even sit down to do the homework. We have modifications for her, so that helps a bit.
All I can say is that, I don't have a teaching degree and the way they teach things now a days just racks my brain!! I consider myself a well educated person with college but man this sucks! I can't wait for them to be out of school now!

My latest stuff

So, for some reason I have been really into romance novels. I know, get a life, right? Yeah!! I have not life, that's a problem. I have recently gotten some books from the thrift store, cause I will not pay the high prices for books, I swear I have read about 3 books in the past month. I like the romance and the smut!! I lie the suspense and the drama, it's all good. Not like I don't have enough drama in my own, real life, but it's more fun when I read about someone else's for a change.

Movie man and Drama Queen have made some new friends in the hood. They play all weekend and after homework every day. This is good for me, I get some quiet time! This is really the first time I have let them leave the yard, on bikes, with friends. They are loving it. I met a Mom of the kids and she is really cool to chat with. Maybe I have a friend in the hood too! Yeay!!

Today was a good day

I haven't had a chance to write anything in a while but today was a day off of work. I went as a chaparone, on a field trip with movie man today. We went to the Philips art gallery in Washington DC. It was an interesting trip. I think the kids, who are 3rd graders, had more fun on the bus ride there and back, then in the actual gallery. Those kids didn't really have much fun, that's all I can say. The group of kids in my group that were a little rowdy. I think the teachers see this as an oppurtunity to put the "rowdy" kids in a group with the chaperones!
We had a tour guide who was probably as old as some of the paintings in the place. She was nice but I was ready to fall asleep! During one part of the tour, the boys were laying, on the bench in the center of the room, where people are gazing at the artwork.
It wasn't really that bad and I got a glance at a Van Gogh painting.
The bus ride back WAS more fun! The kids were loud and obnoxious, but that's what we did on the school bus, at that age, right?
Not real exciting but at least Movie Man liked having me there with him.
